Ilenia Pighetti

My name is Ilenia, an experienced hospital childcare worker, I was born in 1971 and have over 30 years of experience behind me.
I was 20 years old when hundreds of newborns a day began to pass through my hands.
I was so happy: I had made my childhood dream come true!
I served 9 years at the Policlinico Mangiagalli Hospital in Milan and then moved to the Niguarda Hospital, still in Neonatology, where I worked for another 22 years.
Hospital work has certainly helped my professional growth, deepening the clinical part of the newborn and paying attention to the small details that make the difference in the newborn.
Over the past 10 years, hospital work has undergone major changes, from the introduction of rooming-in to a reduction in formula supplements and more support and attention to breastfeeding.
Over the years I have attended numerous refresher courses to keep myself up to date with all the new guidelines.
I was also an internship assistant for the childcare students in the department where I worked.
Although this was a very difficult choice, I thought the time had come to take the important professional baggage acquired over the years outside the Hospital Authority, making it available to families.
In my courses I teach mothers (and fathers!) the importance of listening to their little ones.
In turn, I learned the importance of listening to parents, especially mothers who have always been my working focus.
Extending my experience to training and consulting in the search for a nanny was a natural evolution.
Even in this case the important experience acquired supports me in providing aspiring nannies and families with a serious, professional and result-oriented service.
